School Resource Deputies

MEET YOUR SRD'S
The School Resource Deputy (SRD) Program maintains a safe and secure campus environment for the school district, students, staff, and visitors. The primary objectives of the SRD program include building positive relationships between the school community and law enforcement, identifying and cooperatively finding solutions to school/community related problems, conducting safety audits and taking part in safety drills, assisting the district in the development of their emergency response plans, and enforcement of laws when necessary.
School Resource Deputies, in addition to being sworn Deputy Sheriffs, are also Drug Awareness Resistance Education (DARE) instructors and receive additional training specific to their SRD duties. The SRD provide instruction to students and staff that encompass drug and alcohol education, violence and bullying, and various law enforcement topics. All deputies assigned as an SRD receive advanced training in responding to active shooter events and most are trained to teach Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE).
